Our client, a joint inter-municipal union responsible for the integrated management of household waste, is located in the Centre-Val de Loire region. It brings together several local authorities and is in charge of essential missions related to the collection, sorting, recovery, and treatment of household waste.
Due to the high frequency of collections, resulting in numerous daily trips, the use of a cover net that is simple and quick to handle is essential.
Following various incidents, our client was facing difficulties related to the safety of drivers during the tarping and untarping operations of the containers.
Drivers were using traditional nets, which sometimes required climbing into the containers to ensure optimal coverage—posing risks of falls and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).
The goal was to find a safer, more ergonomic, and more efficient solution for these operations.
OTEXIO proposed the LiteCover® system, which secures operations without the need to climb into the containers. The system includes:
Take a look at our complete range of LiteCover® secure coverings. The primary goal of this solution was to allow operators to handle and install the nets from the ground, without climbing into the container.
This helps prevent falls and also limits poor posture. The client’s operators have many collection points during their rounds, requiring frequent tarping and untarping.
With LiteCover®, they can save time while preserving their safety.
Initially, some drivers were reluctant to use LiteCover®, preferring traditional methods and being unwilling to change their habits.
However, after an initial training session and ongoing support from their manager, adoption of the system has improved.
Although driver feedback is still early, our client is optimistic:
“We’ve made a big step toward better safety. Our drivers are safer on the ground, and we’ve seen a clear improvement in response times.”
