In 2024, OTEXIO continued its commitment to the Responsible management of its packaging, in line with the principles of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes. Since the implementation of ADEME's regulations concerning EPR, companies have played a key role in the reduction of environmental impact. These regulations aim to strengthen waste management by encouraging producers to rethink their packaging, improve recyclability, and promote reuse.

OTEXIO has provided a detailed overview of the types of packaging used and the volumes associated with its transport and logistics activities.

Today, 30% of our packaging comes from reuse or recycling, and 22% is new and designed to be reused multiple times.

Types of Packaging Used

OTEXIO uses a range of packaging solutions, divided into four main categories:

  • 1. Pallets
Pallets are the primary logistics support. Standard sizes include 80x60 cm, 80x120 cm, 100x120 cm, and 120x120 cm. Larger formats may be used for specific orders. These pallets are generally reusable.

  • 2. Cardboard Boxes
The boxes used for daily shipping mainly come in three sizes: 60x40 cm, 80x60 cm, and 80x120 cm. OTEXIO prioritizes second-hand and reusable boxes, underlining its focus on sustainability.

  • 3. Wooden Crates
Less common, wooden crates are used for specific shipments. They are new but designed for reuse.

  • 4. Plastic Bags and Stretch Film
Bags (or sleeves): used to wrap long products (e.g., booms, jibs). They are new and non-reusable.
Stretch film: used during palletization, but is rarely used at OTEXIO due to its non-reusability.

Logistics and Carriers

We have also recorded the types and quantities of packaging used across different modes of transport, particularly for:

• Freight transport
• Incoming deliveries to our workshops

A summary of the total number of packaging units has been compiled, supporting the monitoring and optimization of logistics flows.

In summary, a total of 12,705 packaging units were used, of which 3,794 were reused, representing 29.9%.

With this report, OTEXIO confirms its commitment to continuously improving its logistics and environmental practices. The focus is on material reuse and adapting packaging to the actual needs of transport—a responsible and efficient approach that meets the challenges of 2024.
