How to prevent accidents related to falls into workshop pits?

A workshop pit measures approximately 1 meter in width and 1.5 meters in depth. It is like an open trench when there is no truck parked over it. This presents a real hazard for operators who work around it throughout the day or during nighttime.
The risk of serious or even fatal accidents is significantly increased when these pits are not protected.

Health and Safety at Work advisory agencies, Ameli Health Insurance, and the National Institute for Research and Safety (INRS) strongly recommend protecting workshop and garage pits with secured and easy-to-use systems to minimize the risk of falls that employees are exposed to.

Since 2013, the National Technical Committee for the Metallurgical Industries (CTN A) adopted a recommendation that any company wishing to install a new workshop pit (or inspection pit) on its premises should include a section regarding its protection in their specifications.

After careful consideration, OTEXIO has developed and patented a 100% secured special protection net to cover and secured these pits in the event of a fall, addressing this issue.

PROTECPIT® meets several requirements:
  • 100% secured solution, anti-fall for individuals and objects
  • System certified by an Engineering Bureau
  • Compliant with R468 recommendations from CTNIM
  • Meets CARSAT (Retirement and Occupational Health) recommendations
  • Possibility of partial protection of the pit
  • Installation in less than 3 minutes
