COMPANY PRESENTATION : 

Our client, the environmental division of a major group, is an international environmental services provider specializing in waste management and recycling, with a national presence in Germany as well as globally.

Committed to the development of new recycling channels and the reduction of natural resource consumption, the quality of products used internally and the safety of its teams are central to the group's strategy.

Representing several agencies in Germany, our client has a significant fleet of vehicles to equip and aims to increase productivity while ensuring the safety of its operators.

Due to a high frequency of waste collections, resulting in numerous rotations per day, the simplified use of a net to cover the container is necessary.

PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED : 

In the transportation of waste (of all types, especially wood), our client has until now used traditional nets equipped with bungee cords, allowing them to comply with regulations and to move freely during collection, up to the waste treatment.

The installation of these nets is complicated and dangerous due to the height of the dumpsters, weather conditions, available space, and even overflow. Our client was looking for an alternative, durable, and quick solution without having to climb on the dumpsters, allowing operators to safely perform covering and uncovering operations from the ground, despite rain, frost, wind, and on overflowing dumpsters.

Moreover, with numerous covering and folding operations, traditional nets are prone to tearing and thus fail to protect the transported waste from scattering on the road, leading to regular replacement of the equipment and potential traffic fines.

SOLUTION PROPOSED BY OTEXIO : 

We proposed the LiteCover® system to our client. A 100% secure covering system that allows covering a container with a pole and a specially designed rod from the ground, to avoid any risk of falling and enable drivers to work safely, reducing the hardship of covering in all weather conditions. Its setup is quick, the system allows to cover the container in less than 3 minutes, a real time saver and productivity gain during collection rounds.

The net, being more durable than a traditional net due to its special fabrication, does not need to be replaced regularly.

Furthermore, this system meets the requirements of health and safety since the recommended installation method and training comply with basic safety rules, gestures, and postures established to limit and avoid the risk of work accidents or occupational wounds.

The net's lightness also allows for better maneuverability and reduces the hardship due to the weight of a traditional net. A demonstration and training of the system were conducted at our client's site by one of our technical sales representatives so that each driver knows the procedure to properly install the net on the dumpster.

A two-month test period then took place, allowing operators to try and manipulate the system in real situations during their rounds. Following this, the solution was adopted by the users, leading to a phased implementation over a full year to equip the group's various agencies.

CLIENT FEEDBACK : 

Our client equipped themselves with 30 systems to facilitate and improve the productivity of their teams.

The drivers find that the system is easily mounted on the dumpster regardless of weather conditions, without having to climb on the dumpster or use a ladder.

Its resistance allows them to cover all types of materials or waste without the net deteriorating, or at least not as quickly as with a traditional net they were accustomed to working with, since even if it gets punctured, the tear does not spread, thanks to the net's make-up.

The ease of folding the net also saves them time without it being too bulky or too heavy during heavy rain. The drivers are convinced by the use of the covering system in real situations and explain that this protective net provides ease of work while improving their safety.
