The waste resulting from the filtration of lubricant and additive production creates a challenging sludge to manage. This still-hot sludge falls from a conveyor into a first container (1m³). The sludge tends to quickly solidify and adhere, making handling and disposal difficult. Moreover, it damages the containers by leaving a deposit at the bottom, eventually reducing the container's capacity if not cleaned.
Beyond time, expense, and productivity issues faced by our client, the polyethylene sheet used until now only protected the bottom of the container and did not spare the container doors, which became stuck and blocked due to mud residue.
OTEXIO's EXPERTISE
OTEXIO manufactures and sells PROTECSKIP® polyethylene container protection covers aimed at optimizing container loading and unloading in dumping areas. They also have the advantage of protecting containers and avoiding intensive, costly, and time-consuming cleaning.
To address the client's challenge, OTEXIO came up with a variant of the polyethylene cover: the jute fabric cover. It has the particularity of withstanding high temperatures and, most importantly, protecting the entire container—including the interior walls—making it completely waterproof.
The small 1m³ yellow containers can be filled directly with the sludge discharged by the conveyor. This sludge cools down before being transferred with the jute fabric cover into the container designated for final disposal.
The polyethylene covers can then be installed in the 15m³ containers, which can accommodate the cooled waste. Disposal will be facilitated, accelerated, and the containers preserved, immediately ready for a new rotation.
CLIENT FEEDBACK :
The first test yielded positive and conclusive results. The combination of the jute fabric cover in the 1m³ container and the polyethylene cover in the 15m³ container reduced loading and unloading time to less than 2 minutes per operation, while keeping the container clean.
Our client can now avoid the cost of cleaning the containers and the time spent scraping the bottom of the containers. OTEXIO's expertise and the PROTECSKIP® solution have also solved the issue of closing the rear doors of the container, which are now free of sticky residue.
