Protecting plasterboard containers and improving working conditions with the RCOVER® Custom-Made Container system

SICTOM Solution Montluçonnaise, a waste management authority located in the Allier department (03), operates a network of 10 waste disposal sites. Its main mission is to collect, transport and sort household waste.

Already an OTEXIO customer for other equipment such as:

• Waste anti-litter nets “Fenceline”;
• Traditional container nets;
• Big Bags for transporting, storing or handling waste;
• As well as retrofit nets for the Hytower system.

The authority was therefore looking for a solution to optimise the management of its plasterboard containers at the Domérat site, addressing issues related to safety, watertightness, handling, time loss, water retention and material deterioration.

The challenge

The authority had two plasterboard containers but no covering system to protect their contents from the weather and prevent the materials from losing value.

This lack of protection resulted in two types of issues:

• Material deterioration: when exposed to the weather, the waste deteriorated and lost value.
• Operator working conditions and safety: the lack of a suitable covering system required teams to exert considerable physical effort and carry out complex handling operations when preparing the containers.

Solution proposed by OTEXIO

To address this issue, OTEXIO proposed the supply and installation of an RCOVER® Custom-Made Container covering system, fitted to the plasterboard containers.

The installation was carried out directly by OTEXIO's teams, allowing the system to be put into operation quickly. RCOVER® Container is a watertight system fitted with impact-resistant rails, consisting of a 650 g/m² PVC tarp with a dual-slope design that prevents water accumulation, ensuring the container remains watertight. RCOVER® Container can be operated from ground level or from a loading dock and enables safe covering in just a few seconds.
