Thickness of polyethylene tarps

A tarp’s thickness directly affects its resistance to external wear and tear. A thin tarp will be easier to handle, but less resistant to tearing; a thicker tarp will be more durable, especially in windy conditions or where friction is involved.
In our products, thickness is closely linked to weight (g/m²): the higher the weight, the more robust the fabric.

What weight should you choose?

• 70–100 g/m²: light use, temporary cover, occasional protection.
• 150–200 g/m²: a good balance for moderate outdoor use.
• ≥ 240 g/m²: demanding conditions, maximum resistance.

Depending on your intended use, you can choose a lightweight or reinforced tarp, according to your requirements in terms of strength, lifespan and flexibility.

Waterproof polyethylene tarp

Our watertight tarps are designed to resist water and moisture. Thanks to the double-sided coated polyethylene material, the fabric becomes waterproof: ideal for maintaining a dry environment, even in heavy rain.

UV-resistant polyethylene tarp

When exposed to the sun, a tarp without UV protection deteriorates more quickly (yellowing, brittleness). Our UV-treated models provide greater durability while preserving the product’s flexibility and watertightness.
